The attorney behind the firm

The law firm's founder, Tiaan De Jager, established the firm in 2024 after gaining more than a decade of extensive legal experience.

Tiaan matriculated from Robertson High School with numerous distinctions in 2006, after which he studied at the University of Stellenbosch, obtaining his LLB degree in 2010.

After completing his articles at a Vredendal-based firm, Human Attorneys (now Human Van Der Merwe), he was admitted as an attorney in early 2013, the same year he joined Vaughan Ulyate & Associates as a professional assistant attorney.

That same year, he also obtained his right of appearance in the High Court of South Africa, and he has since regularly appeared in that Court without the assistance of an advocate. He has also appeared in the Labour Court, where his first appearance on behalf of an employer-client resulted in the successful enforcement of a restraint of trade. This is just one of the numerous cost-saving measures available to our clients.

He was admitted as a notary and conveyancer in 2019, the same year he became an LSSA-accredited mediator after completing the required course. He was later appointed as a senior associate before becoming a director of the Bellville-based firm Vaughan Ulyate De Jager (now Vaughan Ulyate Attorneys) in 2022.

Although passionate about his work, Tiaan also believes in maintaining a good work-life balance (attorneys have their own definition thereof, though). Outside of work, Tiaan enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, whether it's engaging in outdoor activities like visiting wine farms and camping, or relaxing indoors with a braai and board games. This cat lover tries to keep fit by visiting the gym as often as possible.
